Straight answers about US colleges, from the public data — for students, not for sale.

Applying to college means reading numbers that are hard to find and easy to misread: what a college actually costs after aid, who gets in with what grades, which deadlines are real. Counsellor pulls those numbers from the federal datasets colleges are required to report — IPEDS and the College Scorecard — and shows them plainly.

How we are different

• We do not sell student data. Not to colleges, not to recruiters, not to advertisers, not to anyone. There is no ad tech and no third-party analytics anywhere on this site.
• We publish where our numbers come from. Every figure traces to a named public dataset and the year it was reported.
• You do not need a Google or Apple account. You can sign in with your email address alone, if you would rather not involve either of them.

Who can use it

Counsellor is for students aged 13 and over. If you are under 18, we ask for a parent or guardian's email address when you sign up. If you are under 13 we cannot create an account, and we keep no record of the attempt.

For school IT administrators

If your district blocks new apps on school Google accounts, the exact client ID, the complete list of scopes we request, and the Admin console steps are on this page. We request sign-in scopes only — we read nothing inside your tenant.
